AAFP Creates Lifestyle Medicine Resources on Youth Suicide Prevention, Diabetes Care, and Healthy Eating

With grant support from Ardmore Institute of Health, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) rolled out a series of Community Engaged Lifestyle Medicine resources, designed to assist physicians in integrating Lifestyle Medicine into their practice. The resources address various Lifestyle Medicine topics including:

  • Inexpensive ways for people to improve their diet and enjoy the benefits of healthy eating

  • Efforts to reduce suicide and self-harm in young people

  • Effective forms of diabetes care

The resources, developed by family physicians and staff from the Connecticut, Idaho, and Illinois AAFP chapters, include a nutrition guide, physician and patient packets, a health assessment, and educational sessions.
