Employer Resources Available: Implementing Lifestyle Medicine in the Workplace

Ardmore Institute of Health (AIH) provided grant funding to the Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO) in 2022 to support a research project exploring how employers can be agents of change to advance the implementation of lifestyle medicine. Below are resources created as a result of this grant.

HERO hosted convenings with national thought leaders, facilitated expert and employer interviews, and conducted a series of interdisciplinary workshops to curate principles and strategies for employers to:

  • Create the conditions in which lifestyle medicine can optimally be integrated into employer health and well-being offerings

  • Relate the benefits of lifestyle medicine to key business outcomes

  • Extend the influence of their whole-person health initiatives into their communities

  • Advocate for reimbursement of lifestyle medicine

Through this AIH-funded initiative, HERO created a scalable framework and developed the following resources for employers:

AIH is pleased to fund an extension of this project in which HERO is conducting case studies to examine the impact of employers implementing the principles and strategies outlined in the resources above.
