Honoring Lifestyle Medicine Pioneer Franklin House

Ardmore Institute of Health mourns the passing of Board Member and Lifestyle Medicine pioneer Dr. Franklin House. He has been affiliated with AIH for over twenty years, previously serving as President, CEO and Chairman of the Board.

Dr. Franklin House practiced general family medicine in Texas his entire clinical career. His interest in Lifestyle Medicine grew as practice experience progressed. During the final years of his practice, he incorporated Lifestyle Medicine principles into treatment plans with increasing frequency. His wife Bonnie taught plant based cooking classes to patients referred from Franklin’s practice. Dr. House was the founder of an eleven physician multi-specialty clinic with locations in Killeen and Copperas Cove, TX. He was the co-founder of Metroplex Health System (now AdventHealth Central Texas) in the same area.

Current AIH President, Ron Stout said, “Franklin’s passion for helping people live full and vibrant lives helped to establish the field of Lifestyle Medicine. His leadership helped guide AIH to its current mission and it is now ours to carry his legacy forward.”
