A Healthy Diet Can Add Years to Your Life

A Healthy Diet Can Add Years to Your Life

If you’re a 30 year old woman, how would you like to live about a decade longer than expected? If you're a 60 year old man, how would you like to add 9 years?

Researchers of a new study have developed a model for predicting how making specific dietary changes may affect how long we live, at any age. The greater the changes and the earlier in life they’re made, the more years gained.

No matter the age, the greatest gain in life expectancy comes from eating more legumes, whole grains, nuts, fruits, and vegetables and less red and processed meats.
